Yay, um...

Been working since the end of May. Job is boring as Hell, so I happen to go on dA some times to kill my boredom. Of course my boss doesn't know. Meh. So yeah. I don't think I'll take this job again next summer. That's a try and miss I guess. Anyway, it's the weekend and I'm talking about work. Not sane.

So. Yeah, besides that, *DrewsterHotRod gave me a 1-year subscription. Now I want anyone who lives close to her to go hug her for me .

With that subscription comes the ability to use custom CSS in journals . So I coded some. Yes I know it took quite a while, but I had other stuff to do. Do you like it? I still want to make a few adjustments on it, some background graphics and stuff, for example, and some more hacks. But I'll do that later. At least that's better than my ASCII-based style, which, I'm telling ya, was a real pain the butt to use. So. Questions, comments, compliments, insults about that CSS are welcome. I might clean it up and publish the code sometime, but it's not really user-friendly (there's no linebreaks in my whole journal code to avoid dA polluting it with <br/>'s. (Talking about inserting tags in texts, I can has HTML escape codes support plz!?? At least &lt; and &gt; ... I don't like having to use dirty hacks.)

Besides that... Remember I had to re-install Windows becase its partition's NTFS header just blew up? It did it again. Like... 5 weeks later. I'm pretty sure it's hardware-related, so now I'm running on my Linux install 24/7, with sometimes Windows running in VMware. The image's in my external HDD, so it's kinda safe from corruption, but USB and a FAT32 host filesystem makes the whole thing kinda... slow. Add to this my shitty CPU.

I'll get a new computer soonish. I'm sick of that one. Even Rollercoaster Tycoon 3, Audiosurf and Frets On Fire lag on that. And there's also Guitar Hero 3's ridiculously high system requirements that forced me to buy the PS2 version... no net support, even if my PS2 is properly equipped. Fail. Anyway. Every fucking new computer comes with Microsoft's shitty Windows Vista. I can't really build a tower since I need a laptop because I have divorced parents and I move every week. I'm thinking about a Macbook Pro. I had a few versions of Mac OS running in BasiliskII, SheepShaver and VMware and I like that OS more and more. And so some of my friends do, so I'll probably do the switch... and run Windows and Linux in either a dual-boot setup or WMware. We'll see. That computer seems to have good results in some independant reviews and benchmarks too.

Talking about new stuff. deviantART version 6. I figured it's a like it or hate it. I like it here. The message center is awesome, when you use it properly. Doesn't display enough messages at once? Well notice the menu on the left? Use it. I started using the folder system to collect some quizzes and memes to steal when I have time. I'm still trying to have more activity here on dA. I need stuff to post, lol! I may still have some photo stuff, I'll try to find and publish some. Other stuff, I don't have any freaking time to create! (Blame my job) Yeah, it's a rare kind of summer where I'm actually looking forward for school to begin. D: I have requests to finish too. Damn, am I ever gonna get them done?? I'm a perfectionist too, that really doesn't help, lol.

Also, for those geeks out there. I'm making a Breakout/Arkanoid-like game, just for fun. Probably gonna be available on PC, Mac and Linux. Maybe even BeOS. It's probably going to be kinda minimal, but working. Look forward for that... in a few months, lol. I'm also rewriting my IRC client since the sources got lost in my latest hard disk crash, leaving me with nothing but an outdated CVS. Good news, I might implement dAmn in it, thanks to the reverse-engineering and documenting work of those bot-makers here on dA.

So, let's go, um...

1. My result at the Geek Test is 34.09090909... (Total Geek).
2. I have a car (1992 Honda Civic DX Hatchback) and I don't even have my licences yet.
3. I have met over 20 online friends in real life, and planning for more.
4. I know more than 10 programming languages. At least four of them are obscure, and at least two are old and/or obsolete. At least one of them is esoterical or useless.
5. I still have my first computer (8088, 8 MHz, 1 Mb RAM, CGA graphics, 20 Mb HDD), and it's hooked to a 42" 1920x1080 TV/monitor. For comparison, my main computer has a 15" 1680x1050 monitor. (Small fonts are small). Plus, I still run Windows 3 on my main computer (not my main OS though!) to run old-school apps and games.
6. Even though I'm a better driver than my mom (according to the rest of the family), I failed my road test multiple times. I still don't have my licences almost a year after my first test.
7. I play guitar. And Guitar Hero too (It's actually one of my fave games).
8. When I was 3 or 4, I could identify every car (make/model) and I knew the routes to many places, sometimes an hour of driving away. Now I can't even ID half of the common models and I can get lost in a nearby town. I have absolutely no problems reading maps though.
